Frequently Asked Questions
If you've visited the numerous wedding and bridal websites, or read any of the bridal magazines, you have undoubtedly seen the lists of "must ask" questions to be asked of your potential wedding photographers. We feel that your choice must go beyond these questions and we urge you to meet with ... and get to know ... your potential wedding photographer. You will be spending a considerable amount of close-up and personal time with your wedding photographer. Make sure they are someone you like and trust. With that in mind ...
This selection of questions is typical of what those sources say you should ask:
What's the wedding photographer's primary style -- traditional, candid, or posed?
We believe that a particular "photographic style" is dictated by the style of your wedding and should not be limited by your "photographer's style". For additional information, please see our thoughts on style by selecting the "Our Style" menu choice under "Info"
.
What's the wedding photographer's philosophy about shooting weddings?
Your wedding day is generally one of the most special days in your life. We are professionals that understand the importance of your special day, thoroughly enjoy working with people, and have an extreme passion for providing an incredible customer experience. We are compassionate and understand the stress, anxiety, and excitement a wedding can present and we understand the requirement for attention to detail.
Does the wedding photographer shoot in color, black and white, or both?
This question relates more directly to those wedding photographers shooting with film rather than digital. With digital, all images are captured in full color and can be converted to black and white. Superstar Memories utilizes all digital equipment.
How independent is the wedding photographer? Does s/he prefer that you describe exactly what you want, or would s/he rather have free rein to capture the festivities on film? (This point determines how you two will work together.)
Well, at Superstar Memories, we believe weddings are completely about the bride and groom, family, wedding party, and friends ... not about what your wedding photographer prefers or doesn't prefer. During our consultation, we'll reach a mutually beneficial plan as to how you want to work together.
Will the wedding photographer you talk with be the one who actually takes your wedding pictures?
Absolutely. You will meet with both photographers that will be photographing your wedding.
Has the photographer shot many weddings? (Experts say a wedding neophyte is a risk. You want someone who's experienced with wedding mechanics and won't miss key moments.)
We have shot many weddings and will be glad to share samples with you during our consultation.
How many weddings will the photographer shoot on your wedding day?
ONE. The most important one ... YOURS!
Is the wedding photographer open to a list of must-take wedding photos (pictures you definitely want shot)?
Absolutely ... in fact, your list and input will help to ensure your successful Superstar Memories.
Ask yourself: Does this seem like a person you could tolerate throughout your wedding day? You'll want to feel very comfortable around your wedding photographer. Rapport is important with all wedding professionals, but it's crucial here!
